I have seen a lot of Romano hate that I really feel he doesn’t deserve. Mostly regarding how bitchy he is towards Spain. I would like to point out a few things that will show exactly why he is this way. (After all, he’s not some one dimensional character who has no back story to explain his temper.)
First.
Austria ditches him while keeping his younger brother. (Feliciano Jealousy Factor +1)
It wasn’t even his fault that he was so clumsy. He had a disease. One, of course, his brother didn’t have. Thus, it was easier for Feliciano to be good at cleaning and art. (Feliciano Jealousy Factor +1)
He’s even shown thinking about all of these concerns.
And every time he has tried to show that he cares…. it’s sort of blown up in his face.
It makes sense that he would be closed off and bitter.
I’m not saying that this is a call for people to be all “Oh, Romano, you poor baby! I love you for who you are! I like you more than your brother!” He would probably walk away (because he’s totally the type that wouldn’t hit girls and you know it)

I have a headcanon in which when Romano is mad at his brother, he has intentionally, obnoxiously, earth-shatteringly LOUD sex when he shares an adjoining wall with GerIta, as an act of revenge. He knows it makes Germany uncomfortable and thus effectively cockblocks Feli and keeps everyone up all night. Because he’s a douchebag. \o/
I always told myself I’d request this on the KM because uncomfortable UST-Germany is hilarious, but I never catch the new rounds, so I just drew it, hahahaha.
